What Does Mobile Phone Means?



A mobile phone is a wireless handheld device that allows the consumer to produce and receive calls. While the fast generation of mobile phones could only make and receive calls, today’s mobile phones do a lot more, helpful web browsers, cameras, games, video players, and navigation systems.

Also, while mobile phone used to be mostly known as “cell phones” or cellular phones, today’s mobiles are more often called “smartphones” because of all the additional voice and data resources that they offer.

There are (six) types Of Mobiles phones.

  3. Tablets
  4. Phablets
  5. Rugged phones
  6.  Flip phones

Ø Feature phones.



A feature phone is a kind of mobile phone that has more features than a quality cellphone but is not like a smartphone. Feature phones can make and receive calls, send text messages, and give some of the modern features found on a smartphone. Feature phones were first designed for consumers who want a universal mobile phone but are not willing to pay the costly prices associated with true smartphones. The second name of the feature phones is dumbphones, a retronym to disparity them with smartphones.

Ø Smart phones.




A smartphone is a cell phone that lets you do further make phone calls and send text messages. Smartphones can browse the web and run an operating system like a computer. Smartphones use a tap screen to allow users to combine with them. There are thousands of smartphone apps for personal-use, including games and business-use programs that all run on the mobile phone. The picture is an example of the Apple iPhone and Samsung, a famous smartphone.



Ø Tablets.


Tablets are small, flat computers with touchable screens that are between a book and a magazine in size. They are like large variants of a smartphone. The most famous tablet computers at the time of writing are the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Apple iPad.



Ø Phablets. 



A phablet is a smartphone that has a screen size that is larger than a common smartphone but smaller than a tablet. Unlike tablets, all phablets have a phone number and a phone function, which makes them mobile phone devices that have a very large screen in contrast to most common smartphones.

Phablets do not have any industry standard or stipulation, so the term is primarily a marketing term used by the maker to highlight their smartphones with large screens. Phablet is a term typically used by manufacturers of smartphones that run the Android operating system.


Ø Rugged phones.



A rugged phone is a device that is sealed fully within a thick casing to protect it against damage from water, dust, shock, and vibration. It is assessed by its Ingress Protection level which is an IP rating. The IP rating will tell you what it is strong towards, such as falls, drops, water damage, and sometimes major levels of temperature and pressure.




Ø Flip phones.



A hinged cellphone that is tight when closed. The cover "flips open" to reveal the keypad, screen, speaker, and microphone. This type of mobile phone is called a "clamshell phone," the flip phone is a primary cellphone without an Internet connection. A step up is the "feature phone," which may offer net access.
